Never a wasp, never a bee, never a chigger, only nasty little skeeters. A million!
MB should love this thread. |

I have never been assaulted en masse by any slappable beasties. I'm just not that sweet. Oh well there was Alaska... Yeesh. that was miserable. It was like clouds and clouds and clouds of 'em. Even then i had the fewest bites of anybody. |

Alaska seems too cold to have mosquitoes. |

| Well this was summer, and apparently their breeding season is so short they do it all at the same time. We picked the wrong time to go camping. ;) |

You guys are like so nice to me. After all I have done here.
Well, I won't comment in here much. I will leave this for Paladin. (I might just add to what he says though)
But, sadly, guess we won't hear from him for a few days.

I am adding varmints to this thread. Last night not twenty minutes after signing off TS a very active bat made an appearance in our computer/school room. After arming ourselves with a fishing net and small wastebasket my father and I pinned it down on the floor. However this encounter was far from over. The bat could squeeze through the holes of the net around the rim.(This bat must have been using very nasty language ,but thankfully I couldn't understand.) Finally with the aid of a pizza box we got it out the front door. I sincerely hope that is the last I see of that creature! It was quite a tussle. |

Wow! Sounds totally exciting!!! BTW, it's nice to have you around here
Tenderfoot! Nice to have some new people around here to keep things
ever changing. It gets boring around here with the same old
people. Thanks!

I think the most bites I ever recieved was when my cats had fleas. . .flea bites.
We had a bat in our house once. Actually, if you go walking around our property at twilight, you may come very close to being hit by one. |

| TF, (Tenderfoot) Did the bat fly away after you got it outside? Cause
usually bats can't fly off the ground. I think they need to start from
somewhere high in the first place. I bet BB could tell you better
though. That is just what I have heard.

| Actually MB we just threw the net, box and wastebasket right out the front door and off the porch. Bats are nasty things! |

| Hmm...does that mean it started flying away or what? My Mom cought a
bat about 3 months ago. Then had the Aniaml Control come and pick it up
so they could release it again. Because the bat could not fly off the
ground.

Yes it did fly away. Are you going to start a bat protection agency ? I made sure it wasn't injured before tossing it out . The reason we threw it out was besause it was out of and sitting on the net. It will live to pester someone else. |

My cousin got bitten by a bat once. They had to send it away to test for rabies As for bites, I've only been bitten by mosquitoes and a wasp. Never even a bee sting!! Not that I'm complaining or anything. |
